Merchants in Rogue Trader are unique NPCs that offer services such as selling Weapons, Armor, and Items, and upgrading Equipment in exchange for the game world currency. Players have to use Profit Factor in order to obtain items from Merchants.
Interacting with Merchants in Rogue Trader
Players will be able to encounter different types of NPCs in Rogue Trader. Many characters are able to help you in your journey and will offer a wide array of services to help you progress your character or the story. There are Merchants who may sell items, offer services, and others who provide quests to provide information and will later reward you with items, XP, and others.
Profit Factor and Reputation
Profit Factor represents the Rogue Trader's wealth, power, influence and other resources. Players have to possess both Profit Factor and enough reputation with the merchant they are currently trading with. Reputation with Factions can be mostly be upgraded by selling cargo. Different Merchants are more into certain valuables.
For example, Opticon-22 grants 500 Reputation Points for Heretic Trophies, while Hieronymus Doloroso will not even take them.
Rogue Trader Merchants
Players will encounter Merchants as they travel through the planets within the Koronus Expanse. They can interact with players to provide them with quests, services, and background information. NPCs like Merchants may provide insight into their way of life, which can be part of the game's main story. Some characters are more important than others because of the services they offer, and the roles they play in the life of the Main Character.
There are 5 Merchants in Rogue Trader. All five of them sell diverse wares such as Weapons, Consumables, and Armor, except for Chartist Captain Austerius Thorfast, who specializes in Ship Components.
