Defensive Stat

Wounds are a measurement of how much punishment a character can take before suffering debilitating effects and ultimately, death. Every character has a specified number of wounds. A character can often increase their wounds by spending experience points and improving their characteristics, such as Toughness, or gaining new Talents and Abilities.

Base Stat Toughness

Wounds in Rogue Trader is a Defensive Stat. Defensive Stats are most necessary for survivability of the character and set some battle conditions for them such as momentum. Wounds are a measurement of how much punishment a character can take before suffering debilitating effects and ultimately, death. Every character has a specified number of wounds. A character can often increase their wounds by spending experience points and improving their Characteristics, such as Toughness, or gaining new Talents and Abilities.

 

Wounds and Traumas Rogue Trader

Whenever a character loses a large portion of their wounds, they might suffer permanent negative effects known as Injuries and Traumas, If a character's wounds are reduced to O, they lose consciousness and suffer a trauma that applies substantial penalties to their characteristics depending on what kind of trauma it ends up being.

  • If a character loses N% of their non-temporary maximum wounds in a single combat round, they suffer an injury. Each injury reduces a character's resolve.

  • Upon receiving K injuries, all injuries are removed from the character, and they suffer a trauma instead. For the first M rounds or (M x 6 seconds out of combat), an injury is considered fresh. Once this period of time passes, the fresh injury turns into an Old injury.

  • Different types of injuries can be healed by different means. The variables N, K, and M change depending on the game difficulty. On Daring difficulty, these variables are equal to 50/3/3, respectively.

How to Remove Traumas Rogue Trader

Traumas can be removed by:

  • Resting on the ship or in certain Other places suitable for rest, Traumas are healed the moment the character enters the bridge. No specific actions (such as sleeping speaking to chirurgeons, or waiting for time to pass) are required. Your party may find itself unable to return to the ship, but the area you are in could have some means of resting or recovering, such as a Medicae station, a healer, or simply a place suitable for respite. In this scenario, you can heal your characters via an interaction of some sort, such as a dialogue or a button.
  • Using rare and expensive consumable Items.
  • Using a Medikit automatically removes one fresh injury. If there are no fresh injuries on the target, the character administering the treatment makes a Medicae skill test (difficulty O). If they succeed, they remove one Old injury.
