Dark Lance is a Thermal (Energy Damage) Weapon and one of the available Ranged Weapons in Rogue Trader. Dark Lance is a two-handed weapon that provides a high amount of damage and armour penetration. Additionally, it proves effective against targets in cover and those with high dodge. Values for each weapon are taken from a base character with no bonuses to either Weapon Skill or Ballistic Skill.

- Requires effectively 2 talents to use, Base Skill:Lore (Xenos) to be able to take the Drukhari Weapon Proficiency talent, and Drukhari Weapon Proficiency to actualy equip the weapon. Furthermore if below strength requirment, it also requires Heavy Weapon Proficiency, making it expensive to invest in for any except high strength characters, or Jae Heydari. This makes it best suited for Warrior - Archmilitant builds, who want to build strength anyway for melee weapons, and want a hard hitting ranged weapon in their second slot.
- Due to being a the only Laser Heavy Weapon, can be fun option on Deathworld Characters, who can also take the Trusty Weapons talent and have a strength bonus, making it easier to use.
- Must reload after every shot, but can be made to have no AP cost to fire using Steady Supiriority, and Wildfire abilites from Archmilitant.
- The longest range weapon with 60% armor penetration in the game, very hard to dodge, and hits every thing in a line very hard. Extremely versitile weapon, good against every opponent type.
- Can hit even harder with the Concentrated Fire ability from the Soldier.
