Forced Distraction is an Ability in Rogue Trader. Each Archetype and a number of specific Origins have many unique abilities that they can use in combat. Characters acquire Abilities as they gain new levels.Forced Distraction is a Vanguard ability where the Vanguard chooses an ally, and enemies in a 3-cell radius around that ally must make a Willpower resistance test. On failure, the Vanguard becomes their priority target, and the chosen ally does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

- Target: All enemies within the area of effect within a 10-cell radius.
- Cooldown: 1 Round
- Forced Distraction provides the following effect:
The Vanguard chooses an ally. All enemies in a 3-cell radius around this ally must make a Willpower resistance test with a -(5 x Vanguard's FEL bonus) penalty. On a failed test, the Vanguard becomes their priority target.
Regardless of the Willpower resistance test results, the chosen ally does not provoke attack of opportunity from these enemies, can shoot enemies in melee range, and move as if not within range of attacks of opportunity.
