Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Enter the Main Computing Cathedral Objectives

To unravel the mystery of the strange ship, you must go through the door to the Main Computing Cathedral.

Rogue Trader Enter the Main Computing Cathedral Walkthrough

Travel to the Aviorus system, where you will encounter the Drifting Voidship that you can explore. Make sure you have at least 2 Melta Charges, since you will need them to fully explore the voidship.

As you enter the ship, try to open the door in front of you and the quest will start. The door won't open so go through the other one on the right. If you go immediately right again you will find a wall that can be destroyed with a Melta Charge. Beyond it you will find a safe you can open with Tech-Use.

Go back and continue advancing throughout the ship, which is linear. In the next room the exit door will malfunction and you will have to repair it with a Logic test at the cogitator at the opposite end of the room. There is also a hidden door you can find with sufficient Awareness, leading to a room with a trap and two crates of loot.

Advance through the repaired door, looting a crate and a locker as you continue. You will reach a room with discharging generators. Stepping through the electrified area will cause injuries so walk in zig-zag around the generators with one character, through the spots where you do not see electric discharge. At the other end there is a cogitator you can use to turn off the generators. There is also a chest next to it and a Lore (Warp) test that will appear after you turn off the generators.

Keep advancing and you will see a cutscene of two tech-priests killing a third one. In the room there is a trap and a locked safe where you will find Augmented Gloves.

In the next room you will find a generator surrounded by toxic gas. Interact with the Compressor Hall Main Cogitator to enable five pressure stabilizers, which are five. Each valve will increase pressure by a certain amount, and you will need a pressure valve of 10 to remove the toxic gas. One character will have to go through the toxic gas. The amount of pressure added by each valve is the following:

After adding up 10 pressure switch to another character so you don't have to walk through the gas again and interact with the Compressor Hall Main Cogitator to remove the toxic gas. If you have medkits you can heal the injured companion.

There is a wall in the room that you can destroy with a Melta Charge. There is a crate inside, blocked by two traps.

Turn on the backup generator to unlock the door at the ship's entrance. This will permanently increase Veil Degradation by 5 throughout the level.

Backtrack till the ship's entrance. In two areas there will now be enemies that you have to fight. The trick of this fight are speakers on the walls called Herald of Corruption, that buff or heal your enemies. Deal with them first to prevent the fight to drag on. Enemies can be ambushed but unfortunately Heralds of Corruption cannot. Despite being mounted high on the walls melee attacks work on Heralds of Corruption. There will also be newly placed traps throughout the ship.

Inside the Main Computing Cathedral you will find Magos Tiberius Mahla. Initiating dialogue with him will grant a moderate amount of Experience. At the end you will have the following dialogue choices:

  1. [Requires: Dogmatic - Follower] "There is no fate more honourable than purgation through suffering in the name of faith. But you were deceived, servant of the Omnissiah! Your torment is not holding back the corruption — it is sustaining it. It is not too late to expel this blight!" - Gain the Conviction of Faith permanent bonus. A boss battle against a Forgefiend will begin.
  2. [Coercion] "You've been consumed by madness. Or worse — Chaos sorcery. If you don't come to your senses, your fate is sealed. Snap out of it and speak clearly — what happened here?" A boss battle against a Forgefiend will begin.
  3. [Persuasion] "Wake up! All the signs are clear as day. You and your brethren have fallen prey to the forces of Chaos, and you don't even realize it." A boss battle against a Forgefiend will begin.
  4. [Requires: Heretical - Follower] [Kill him] "I am not interested in you. I wish to see what you have been trying to hold back!" Choice between a boss battle against a Forgefiend or a very large amount of experience and the Daemonic Presence passive ability for the voidship. The ability gives lance weapons a 50% chance to start internal fires when attacking an enemy ship but if no enemy ship has internal fires the ability will cause an internal fire on the player's voidship instead.
  5. [Kill the man] "I've seen and heard enough." A boss battle against a Forgefiend will begin.
  6. [Kill the man] "What did you call yourself? A sacred filter? I cannot resist — I'm dying to see what a rupture in the filtration system looks like." A boss battle against a Forgefiend will begin.

Regardless of the choice made, Magos Tiberius Mahla will die. You can loot a Diagnostor from him, as well as loot the now-dead tech-priests. If he was not killed by the Rogue Trader he will mention Kiava Gamma. If you ask for more information he will tell you its Fabricator-Censor is a traitor. This will add an additional line of dialogue on Kiava Gamma but the effect is purely narrative. There is also an added optional Lore (Warp) test on the Forgefiend's husk.
