Rogue Trader To Walk Bravely First into Darkness Walkthrough
You will start in the Debris of Battiada system. Scan the ice world and you will find Signal From the Planet. Land there. The map initially has no enemies. There are three optional skill tests you can pass. Interact with the cogitator in the main room. There is an optional Tech-Use test. If you pass it as well as all three optional skill tests on the map you will unlock the Polyglot achievement. Exhaust all interactions with the cogitator to find out where Xavier Calcazar went. Afterwards the necrons will awaken and you will have to fight them. When you return to the voidship you will also have to face 3 Jackal-Class Frigate in void combat.
Go to the Sanctum of Taaphetus system. There will be a Tomb World protected by necron ships. Defeat them in void combat and then try to land. If Ulfar has been recruited and Fenrys Hjolda was not completed he will tell you he will leave the party unless you complete his quest first.
Major choice: If you have met all the requirements for the secret ending Nomos will approach you on the voidship bridge. Their portrait will change depending on his Conviction. If you have the same Conviction as Nomos, they will ask you to come with you. You will have the following options:
- [Requires: Took the Forgefiend on Kiava Gamma on the ship] "Take the Daemon Engine's body, Nomos." - unlocks the secret endings and Nomos cannot die during the final boss fight
- "You can take Asclepius's body." - unlocks the secret endings
- "You do not have my permission to claim another vessel for yourself." - does not unlock the secret endings
You will find yourself on the voidship bridge where you can interact with all companions one last time and ask them what will they do should they survive. They will reply based on their character development path.
Epitaph is a linear map. Travel across the world until you will fight a group of necrons. Walk past them and you will encounter Tanakia. You can speak with her to find out more information before she dies. Go to the end of the map and you will encounter a group of necrons fighting inquisition troopers. Approach and you will fight the necrons. After the fight go to the barrier. If you are Dogmatic or Iconoclast the inquisition troopers will let you through. If you are Heretical you will destroy the barrier.
In the next level you will meet versions of yourself from alternate dimensions.
- You will always fight Cursed Reflection
- If you are not Dogmatic you will fight Righteous Reflection and Argenta the Scourge
- If you are not Heretical you will fight Cursed Reflection and Idira the Insidious
- If you are not Iconoclast you will fight Cursed Reflection and Abelard the Virtuous
After the battle loot everyone for some very powerful equipment. Go down the stairs to the lower levels. Along the way you can pass some Tech-Use tests on dead necrons to access their memories and see Calcazar's progress. There are two sets of stairs that lead below and each of them will lead to a turret you need to destroy and a barricade you must destroy with Demolitions. Cross the bridge to go to the final map.
In the final map you will encounter Calcazar's team. If you are Heretical and Argenta, Heinrix or Ulfar left you during The Lord Inquisitor and The Lord Captain they will be with him. Heinrix will also be present if you told Calcazar to take him back during The Emperor and My Right.
Speak with Calcazar and he will tell you how the plot of all main quests ties together. Afterwards you will have the following choices:
- [Requires: Dogmatic or Iconoclast] "I will not let you bring this insane plan to fruition." - fight Calcazar
- [Requires: Heretical] "First, I will kill you. Then I will claim your trophy for myself. And then... we shall see what I will do to your precious Imperium." - fight Calcazar
- [Requires: Heretical] "There is no need for bloodshed. Why don't we try to derive some mutual benefit by taming this creature together?" - fight Calcazar
- [Requires: Dogmatic or Iconoclast] "I am with you. Wake the beast, and let us shackle it together." - unlocks an additional ending option
The Yoke will break and the C'tan will come out. You will have to fight it. If all the requirements for the secret ending are met Nomos will appear and help you during the fight. He cannot attack but has the ability to buff the party. This final boss fight goes in 3 stages.
- At the first stage: C'tan can shuffle the position of your party around the arena using one of this abilities. He can also create copies of himself, but these copies are simpler and weaker vesions of him. Mind that C'tan can exchange position with one of these copies which serves as a distraction in his favour. C'tan is able to burst fire multiple precise rounds towards your party. Destroying the copies will increase C'tan's vulnerability, decreasing his armor and deflection. Eventually during the progression of the battle, Eventually C'tan will be kept in place and weakened by 2 beams shot on him.
- At the next stage: C'tan will be able to move again. At this stage he will be able to create an Orb that you should destroy before C'tan's turn, otherwise, the Orb will explode wiping all your team. Now the copies of himself perform a fire attack in a shape of a cone in front of them, like a weaker version of C'tan's attack. Destroy these copies in order to make C'tan more vulnerable.
- Last stage: C'tan gains another extra turn to attack, and will start using a new attack with a large AOE, that gives a great disadvantage to your party as this attack may not inflict a lot of damage, it will make the affected go prone. So keep your party members separated. He will only create one single copy of himself this time, but progressively stronger, with temporary wounds. If the combat goes on for too long there's a chance he uses an attack that insta kills one of your party members.
Ending choice: After the battle the C'tan will be imprisoned again and you will make the final choice that determines your ending:
- You always have the option to destroy the C'tan. If you didn't kill Xavier Calcazar he will oppose and you will kill him.
- You always have the option to join the C'tan. If you didn't kill Xavier Calcazar he will oppose and you will kill him.
- You always have the option to imprison the C'tan for yourself. If you didn't earn Xavier Calcazar's trust he will oppose and you will kill him. otherwise he will allow it.
- If you didn't kill Xavier Calcazar you can allow him to complete his plan.
- If you met the requirements for the secret ending you can allow Nomos to merge with the C'tan.
