One Foot in the Grave is a Main Quest in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. One Foot in the Grave can be acquired in Chapter 3. One Foot in the Grave follows the events of the Lord Captain's escape from the corpse dump, and the beginning of their revenge on those who put them there. Main Quests in Rogue Trader tackle the story itself, where the player must make a decision in order to complete the quest and pursue a desired path. Quests are generally social, where the protagonist talks to an NPC and Companions to negotiate a situation, to help an ally, or to confront an enemy. Completing a Quest usually gives a reward such as XP, Equipment, the chance to recruit a Companion, and/or access to a new Location.

Rogue Trader One Foot in the Grave Walkthrough
This quest begins after you wake up in Commorragh during Troubling Developments. The Rogue Trader will wake up without any items and with the following traumas:
- Darkened Eye (-30 Perception)
- Deformed Bones (-30 Agility)
- Hamstrung (-30 Strength)
There are 9 search spots around you. Each one requires passing an Awareness test and will give at random one of the following: Stimm, Large Medkit, Multikey, Gladiator's Healing Kit.
All over the map there are beggars. They are not enemies but can be targeted manually with weapons to be killed. Each beggar will drop a Knife and either a Stimm, Medkit or Multikey.
At the bottom of the map you will find Ugly Beggar. If you pass a Perception test you will find that he has the boots you had equipped when you were captured. If you pass an Agility test you can tell him to give you everything he has to gain the following items: Beggar's Weapon, Stimm, and your boots. You then have two options:
- [Shoot] "Much obliged." - kills the Ugly Beggar
- "Off with you." - the Ugly Beggar runs and can be encountered later
There are two directions in which you can go. First go right to find more of the aforementioned search spots, then go left. On top you will find a beggar trying to escape and being killed by the drukhari. You have two options to proceed:
- Sneak around by using an Athletics check immediately to your left.
- Fight the drukhari. The fight will be easier for Sanctioned Psyker classes as they are less vulnerable without equipment. If you manage to defeat them you will be able to loot their items as well as as reaver jet bike nearby. Aside from grenades their weapons require the Drukhari Weapon Proficiency talent.
Go across the bridge and into the Pit to continue. Inside you will find Malice. If you try to attack him you will receive a game over screen. You will need to convince Malice to heal you. To do this, you have the following options:
- You can beg Malice for help. Do it 3 times and he will be amused.
- You can pretend your wounds don't bother you. Pass an Athletics test and you will impress him.
- You can pass a Coercion test to kill Malice's servant and impress him.
- You can pass a Carouse test to grab the injector from Malice. He will be impressed.
- You can offer Malice your services. This will give you the Serving the Xenos quest.
- If you are Heretical - Adherent you can kill Malice's servant and impress him.
After you are healed Malice will ask in exchange to kill a commissar. Any traumas from the beginning of the quest that you haven't healed already will be removed. The quest will end and the The Chasm quest will start.
