Blades in the Void is a Main Quest in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Blades in the Void can be acquired in Chapter II and tasks players to prevent plundering.

 

Blades in the Void Information Rogue Trader

The worlds of von Valancius protectorate are being terrorised by enemies of Humanity -- xenos carrying rapid strikes on colonies and trading vessels. The Rogue Trader must prevent any further plundering of the dynasty's holdings and launch a counterattack.

  1. Forge a path to Vheabos VI
  2. Find out what is happening on Vheabos IV
  3. Destroy the xenos and their minions
  4. Wait for a response from Dargonus
  5. Stop the Xenos Raids on your holdings 
  6. Answer the call for help from Grantis
  7. Explore the Systems Cinerus Maleficum nebula
  8. Examine the mysterious object
  9. Stop the boarding party
  10. Explore the plasma drive chambers
  11. Return to Dragonus
  12. Defend the von Valancius palace
  13. Search the palace for survivors
  14. Return to the ship

 

Rogue Trader Blades in the Void Walkthrough

Go to the Mortus Acies system. One of the planets will be defended by a small drukhari fleet that has to be defeated in void combat to proceed. Then scan the planet it was defending - now revealed to be Vheabos VI. Land at Pits of Vheabos IV

Loot the few goods you find and enter the central area where you will find Tazarra. You will have to fight the drukhari but if you do not attack them first you will have the following dialogue choices:

  1. "Death to xenos! Death to heretics!" - gladiators fight together with the drukhari
  2. "Tell your Myrmyriss she's not going to like what she's about to see." - gladiators fight together with the drukhari
  3. [Requires: Dogmatic - Follower] [Address the fighters in the arena] "Dying to entertain xenos is a path to eternal shame and condemnation of souls touched by the Emperor's undying glory! Let us join our blades — we will destroy those who sought to kill you!" - gladiators fight together with you
  4. [Requires: Commissar origin] [Turn to the fighters in the arena] "Do you truly wish to die at the xenos' behest? If we join forces now, we can end this senseless carnage once and for all." - gladiators fight together with you

After the battle, if the gladiators sided with you, you will have to decide their fate:

  1. [Iconiclast] "Those who fought with me, get to the shuttle. As soon as we are away from here, I will give orders for the immediate evacuation of the remaining survivors." - gain trophies
  2. [Dogmatic] "By destroying these foul xenos, you have atoned for your transgressions against the Emperor — get to the shuttle. The rest of you will be subject to selective punitive servitorisation so that you may further toil for the good of the Imperium." - gain trophies
  3. [Heretical] [Attack] "Why have you stopped? We aren't done with you yet!" - fight the surviving gladiators
  4. "Stay on the planet with everyone else and wait until I decide what to do with you. I do not have time for this now."

Loot the battlefield. There is also a hidden cache in one of the corners that requires an Awareness test to find.

Return to the voidship and make your way slowly towards the Silence of Mer-Segrit system. After 3 warp jumps from Mortus Acies you will receive the quest Attack in the Silence of Mer-Segrit and will need to complete it before continuing with Blades in the Void. After that quest is done you will receive a distress call from Grantis, in the Palatium Stellos system. Go there, scan the planets until you found Grantis if you haven't explored the system already, and land at Governor's Camp.

Governor's Camp is linear. Follow the path, looting as you come across anything, until you reach a large open area where you will find Marazhai and a group of drukhari executing the governor and waiting for the party. The selected dialogue options do not matter and the conversation will always end in a fight. After the fight loot all the drukhari equipment. There is also a hidden body you can find with enough Awareness behind the last home. From it you can loot Armour of the Undaunted and Deadly Precision.

When you're ready, head back to the voidship. If you have not already created a warp route between the systems Pelium Solitas and Litoribum Maledicta you will notice one has been created. Enter the Last Chance of Cyrene system and you will find a Mysterious Object inside. Fly to it, scan it to find a Xeno-Artifact and explore it. While exploring it there will be optional skill checks to gain bonus experience. When you are finished exploring it you will enter void combat with 3 drukhari voidships. A fourth one will appear after the first turn.

After the battle you will be informed that drukhari have boarded and are trying to destroy the plasma drive. You will be given a party selection screen to go and fight them. After the fight you will be instructed to disarm their explosives on the reactor. On the way there you will begin dialogue with a dying crew member. Regardless of how the conversation goes you will have to make a choice that gives +5 points in the chosen conviction.

  1. [Iconoclast] [Let the officer slip into the hallucination] "I think I hear your son calling you."
  2. [Heretical] Leave. the officer between the two worlds] "I want to watch the scum suffer."
  3. [Dogmatic] [Excuse the traitor] "In the name of the Emperor, death to all heretics. "

Disarm the explosives, loot everything throughout the map, and return to the voidship bridge. You will be instructed to travel to Dargonus. When you arrive in Mundus Valancius you will find drukhari voidships above Dargonus, which you will have to fight. There will be one drukhari cruiser and two destroyers.

After the battle land at the Von Valancius Palace. This time there will be combat so put the companions you would prefer in your party before continuing. You will fiend Dargonus under siege and as soon as you enter the perimeter Clementia Wrserian will bring you up to speed.

Loot the crate left of Clementia's encampment and proceed to the main square, where you will join a find the palace wardens ready to fight the drukhari. The drukhari won't notice you so you can ambush them with attacks before the fight. There is a trap on the eastern side that can't be disabled without starting the fight so it is recommended to attack from the center and the western side. After looting them you can find a turret on the western side that you can dismantle with a Tech-Use test. Past the archway you will find a reaver jet bike you can loot if you pass a Tech-Use test, as well as a dead warden you can loot. You will also find a dying warden. If you interact with him it will bring an Awareness test. If you pass the test you will find a mine underneath his body and bring a Lore (Xenos) test. If you pass it you will disarm the mind and the warden will survive and give you a Protector of Faith. Press forward, disabling two mines you encounter.

In the next area you will encounter Tazarra again, who will join the fight with the rest of the drukhari this time. On the right side, right after the entrance, there is a turrets cogitator. Place the character with the highest Logic score as close as possible to it and use them to active the turrets to receive some support during the fight. After the fight loot everyone. There is also a reaver jet bike you can loot on the western side and an Athletics test to reveal a body with an Imperial Staff on the eastern side. Go to the palace entrance where there is one last body you can loot and one last trap.

Inside the palace pass an Athletics test on either side of the stairs to proceed. Both of them have a body you can loot at the end so be sure to get the other one. Afterwards turn left and go into your room. You will find Achilleas Scalander surrounded by 4 Beastmasters you will have to fight. Achilleas will fight with you. After the battle loot the bodies for drukhari weapons, a hidden bookcase next to them for Arsonist's Bracers, and a safe on the balcony for Melee. There is an Aristocrat in the room that has a Medicae test you can pass for a little experience, as well as one in the bedroom that requires an Awareness test. Then head for the throne room. There is a Warden you can speak with, he will die in a few seconds and you can loot him, as well as two traps you'll have to get past.

Advance into the throne room, where you will find Marazhai on your throne. There will be a cutscene of him leaving, followed by one last battle. After you're done loot all enemies and everything you missed in the throne room and return to the voidship. The quest will end.

      How does Marazhai survive to show up on Dargonus if you kill him? Why does nobody show any reaction to that?

        I had the same problem. Right before you enter the throne room, facing the entryway to the right up the stairs there is an easy to miss room with the governor. Go there. And I hope they'll put a governor marker on the map or something in one of the patches.

          Same problem here. Battles are done and the quest still tells me to look for survivors yet i have klicked on every person there and there is no way to go back to the voidship.

            After the last fight in my palace i´m stuck. The Quest wants me to get back to the ship but there is no option/ no shuttle. Reload doesnt help
