Soulless is a Companion Quest in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Soulless can be acquired in Act 4.

 

Soulless Information Rogue Trader

The very first warp jump with a Drukhari on board has resulted in tragedy. Numerous disembowelled victims left on the officers' deck mark the path walked by Marazhai, who seems to have completely lost his mind. The source of this threat needs to be located and neutralised.

 

Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Soulless Objectives

  1. Meet with the survivors on the officers' deck
  2. Find the mad xenos
  3. Talk to Marazhai
  4. Kill the daemons
  5. Decide Marazhai's fate
  6. Talk to Marazhai on the ship's bridge (if alive)

 

Rogue Trader Soulless Walkthrough

This quest will begin during the first warp travel after Marazhai has been recruited. Enter the first room and you will see a cutscene with the ghost of a crew member. If you have sufficient Awareness you will find goods on one of the dead crew members. The map is linear so continue forward until you meet with the surviving deck enforcers. Make a few steps forward and a daemonette will speak with you before disappearing. Keep going forward until you catch up with the deck enforcers and loot the body next to them. There are numerous traps placed in front of the next door by the deck enforcers so select a single character with high Awareness and use them to maneuver around the traps and disable them. You can also loot some cargo goods from a crate if you manage to disable enough traps.

Open the large door and continue along the corridor until you find Marazhai. Once you find him you can either fight him to make him stop or try to reason with him. If you try to reason with him you need to success 3 times. You have the following options:

  • You always have the option of passing skill tests. The first one requires Persuasion, the second one requires Lore (Warp) and the third one requires Coercion.
  • You always have the option to send an enforcer for Marazhai to kill. This option will only work once and will remove an enforcer enemy from the coming fight.
  • If Yrliet is in the party she can speak with Marazhai in the aeldari language. This option will only work twice.
  • If Pasqal is in the party he can shock Marazhai with Motive Force. This option will only work once.
  • If Heinrix is in the party he can use biomancy on Marazhai. This option will only work once.

You will need to fight 1 Artisan of Pain, 5 Ecstatic Daemonette, and 2 or 3 Deck Enforcer, as well as Marazhai if you didn't reason with him. After the fight you can choose to let Mrazhai live of kill him. If you kill Marazhai you can look his equipment back from him. Return to the bridge, and if you didn't kill Marazhai speak with him to complete the quest.
