Rogue Trader Where the Shadows are Deepest of All Walkthrough

When exploring the Shadow Quarters on Footfall you will notice there is a blocked area. At the fence gate you will find an Exterminator Brigade Sergeant. He will refuse to let you pass.

Return to Vladaym Tocara the Liege. You have three ways to ask for passsage:

  • [Iconoclast] "I wish to help the people in the quarantine zone. I will have medicine delivered to them from my ship."
  • [Dogmatic] "You're right, Liege. The deaths of the people in the quarantine zone is a necessary price to pay for the station's security."
  • "I believe I said I wish to enter the quarantine zone. You would dare defy the will of a Rogue Trader?"

After completing Janus and returning to the Liege the new area will open. You can loot it, and there are a couple of hidden goods that can be found with sufficient Awareness if you walk along the walls.

Head to the lower area of the quarantine zone. Between the two sets of stairs there is a door. If you get very close to it you will see a new observation point. Interact with it to speak with the barricaded survivors. Then to go the opposite corner (see the picture below) and if you pass an Awareness test you will find the mutants' lair.

Once inside, climb the stairs while looting a crate on the way and then enter the next room for a fight. If you enter slow enough you will see the enemies before they see you and get the chance to ambush them. By careful if attacking in melee as many of the mutants create a toxic cloud upon death. After the fight, players can find Imperial Pride, a two-handed bolt, on one of the bodies.  There is also a box that contains a Pack of Reagents

Bug is still present, I think it has something to do with the quest order, or visiting places.
I never left Footfall until now, but the sergeant at the gate told me, that he received word so they cleared the mines and let me pass.
      Gate remains, even after reload...

I managed to bypass this by using Toybox-es "teleport whole party to mouse cursor" hotkey.
All the mines spare of one buggy floating mid-air are deactivated inside the gate, so the guard spoke the truth.
I found the mutant lair, I unlocked the elevator back to the main level, everything else seems to be working.

So... Anything on the failed objective after killing all the mutants?? I mean, I have the feeling that the quest can appear in chapter 4 in a very nasty way. This dudes, according with the contextual clues... Well you should deal with them, family or not... But nevertheless the failed objective bugs the **** out of me.

P.D. I can assure you that after 4 differents runs, that particular bug thats is mentioned on the other comment it's fixed. Just do Janus quickly and go back if you want and you should want...
